What happens at your first appointment with Dr. Judy?
We spend a lot of time with our patients to understand their dental wants and needs and to know them on a personal level. Our team prides itself on our unique approach to quality care. Many of our patients claim this sets us apart from other offices. We want to assure you that it is our goal to make your dental experience with us as positive as possible.

At your first visit to Stewart Judy DDS, your experience will begin with a one-on-one conversation with your dental hygienist, who will review your complete medical and dental history. This is a great opportunity to share any specific concerns you may have, discuss your dental goals, and explain what brought you in. Whether you’re coming in for routine care, cosmetic improvements, or a particular issue, we want to understand your needs from the very beginning. We believe that building a strong relationship with our patients starts with listening, and we take the time to get to know you so we can tailor our care accordingly.
Following this initial conversation, we’ll use advanced digital imaging technology to take a full set of X-rays. These digital X-rays emit up to 65% less radiation than traditional methods, making them a safer and more comfortable option. In addition to X-rays, we may capture detailed intraoral photos and perform a comprehensive oral exam. Dr. Judy will carefully evaluate all of this information to get a complete picture of your dental health and history. This thorough assessment allows him to create a personalized treatment plan that fits your needs, lifestyle, and long-term oral health goals. Our goal is to provide clear guidance, quality care, and a comfortable experience every step of the way.
Dr. Judy will palpate your neck and face, assess for any abnormalities, and perform an oral cancer screening. He will completely chart existing conditions in your mouth, including previously restored or extracted teeth, and perform periodontal charting to help determine the health of your gums and bone support. He will discuss treatment needs with you and show videos to help explain possible problems, reasons for treatment, and treatment options.
After reviewing your radiographs and the information your hygienist has gathered, Dr. Judy will complete your “dental physical.” We can then discuss your individualized treatment plan. Once your treatment plan has been presented and you understand your options, our financial coordinator will meet with you to answer any questions you may have, discuss payment options, and work with you on the best way to move forward with your treatment plan. You didn’t get here overnight. We can work at your pace.
